সূরা গাফির আয়াত ৮২ (৪০:৮২) — Surah Ghafir Verse 40:82
أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَانُوٓا۟ أَكْثَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَأَشَدَّ قُوَّةًۭ وَءَاثَارًۭا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَمَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ
উচ্চারণ: afalam yasīrū fī l-arḍi fayanẓurū kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu alladhīna min qablihim kānū akthara min'hum wa-ashadda quwwatan waāthāran fī l-arḍi famā aghnā ʿanhum mā kānū yaksibūna
প্রচলিত বাংলা অনুবাদ: তারা কি পৃথিবীতে ভ্রমণ করে না? করলে তারা দেখত, তাদের পূর্ববর্তীদের পরিণতি কী হয়েছিল। দুনিয়ায় এদের চেয়ে তারা সংখ্যায় অধিক ছিল, আর শক্তি সামর্থ্য ও কীর্তি চিহ্নে বেশি প্রবল ছিল। কিন্তু তারা যা অর্জন করেছিল তা তাদের কোন উপকারে আসেনি।
Conventional English Translation: Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those before them? They were more numerous than themselves and greater in strength and in impression on the land, but they were not availed by what they used to earn.
